Прокуратура Запорізької області направила протест на рішення обласної ради про присвоєння російській мові статусу регіональної на території області.
Про це повідомила прес-служба облпрокуратури.
Подробиць цього протесту в облпрокуратурі не повідомляють.
За даними представників запорізької облорганізації партії «Всеукраїнське об'єднання «Свобода», після ухвалення цього рішення облрадою у вересні вони звернулися до прокуратури з вимогою встановити законність надання російській мові статусу регіональної, а також регулярно проводили акції протесту з вимогою опротестувати рішення.
Прокуратура задовольнила звернення «Свободи» і повідомила про винесення протесту на рішення облради.
Зазначено, що своїм протестом прокуратура зобов'язує облраду скасувати рішення.
Як повідомлялось, 8 вересня Запорізька облрада присвоїла російській мові статус регіональної на території області.
Виконавчим органам облради доручено вжити заходів для використання поруч з державною українською мовою і російської мови в роботі Запорізької облради.
У червні 2007 року Запорізька облрада надала російській мові статус регіональної, після чого прокуратура оскаржила це рішення в суді, і його було скасовано.

The Zaporizhia regional prosecutor's office has filed a protest against the Zaporizhia regional council's decision to grant the Russian language the status of a regional language on the territory of the region.
The press service of the Zaporizhia regional prosecutor's office announced this to Ukrainian News.
The regional prosecutor's office did not disclose details of the protest.
According to representatives of the Zaporizhia regional chapter of the Svoboda political party, the party asked the regional prosecutor's office to assess the legality of the decision to grant the Russian language the status of a regional language after the Zaporizhia regional council adopted this decision in September and regularly organized protests to demand that the regional prosecutor's office file a protest against the decision.
The Zaporizhia regional prosecutor's office accepted the Svoboda party's demand and informed it that it had filed a protest against the regional council's decision.
In the protest, the regional prosecutor's office is demanding cancellation of the decision.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Zaporizhia regional prosecutor's office granted the Russian language the status of a regional language on the territory of the Zaporizhia region on September 8.
The regional council instructed its executive agencies to take measures to ensure that the Russian language is used alongside the Ukrainian language in the operations of the Zaporizhia regional council.
